Overnight Oats with Fresh Berries & Honey
May 25, 2026
Overnight oats are the brunch host's best friend: zero morning effort, beautiful presentation, and genuinely delicious. Prepared the evening before and left to soak overnight, they transform into a creamy, nourishing base that takes toppings extraordinarily well.
For a brunch, set up individual jars with a selection of seasonal toppings and let guests finish their own — it is interactive, beautiful, and accommodates every dietary preference.
Ingredients (serves 6, in individual jars): - 3 cups rolled oats (not instant) - 3 cups whole milk or oat milk - 1½ cups full-fat yogurt - 3 tablespoons maple syrup - 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon cinnamon - Pinch of salt
Toppings: - Fresh strawberries, raspberries, blueberries - Sliced mango or peach - Toasted almonds or granola - Chia seeds, hemp seeds - Wildflower honey for drizzling - Edible flowers
Instructions: Combine oats, milk, yogurt, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Stir well. Divide into 6 individual jars (wide-mouth mason jars are ideal). Cover and refrigerate overnight (at least 8 hours).
In the morning, add a splash of milk to each jar if too thick. Arrange toppings in decorative sections on top of each jar. Drizzle with honey and serve chilled.
Pro Tips: The oats expand significantly overnight — fill jars only three-quarters full. These keep well for 3 days in the refrigerator, making them ideal for multi-day brunch situations. Chia seeds added to the base mixture create a pudding-like texture that many guests prefer.
